Ibanez Talman TMB30-MGR 30″ Short Scale Bass Guitar, Mint Green
£239.99
Short Scale
With just 30″ of space between the bridge and the nut, this bass is a lot smaller than some. This makes it much easier to play not only for beginners, but also for pros who may want to take advantage of a smaller neck for long stretches.
It also makes a slight difference to the tone of the bass as well. As you have less tension on the strings, your tone gets a lot more of a throaty midrange that can cut through the mix like a dream.
Comfortable Build
While the Talman may not be a conventional bass shape, neither really fitting in to traditional or modern stylings, it has still been carefully designed for comfort. Made from Mahogany, the body adds a lot of low end thump to the sound. The Maple neck, adorned with a Jatoba fretboard, adds a bit of snap to your tone keeping the balance in check.
Versatile Electronics
Simplicity is key to the setup here. While Ibanez are known for their very powerful active setups, they also know when they need to tone it down. So the TMB30 has a very simple P/J pickup configuration from Ibanez’s selection of Dynamix pickups. These were designed after classic passive electronics from the 60s and 70s, that helped give the first short scale basses their signature sound.
